Dave Giza owns and operates Genesis Farms, LLC in Culpeper, Virginia – home to Genesis Clydesdales and Genesis Farriers. Dave served 21 years in the US Coast Guard as an Aviation Survivalman and EMT (retiring as a Senior Chief) and also operated a home improvement business before coming to farriery in 2007. He trained in equine podiatry, and apprenticed with a master farrier, while drawing heavily from his former experiences to develop a unique approach to hoof care which customizes trimming, shoeing, and corrective care to the inner workings of each horse’s hoof!  As a member of the American Association of Professional Farriers, a accreditation and credentialing platform, Dave receives continuous education and support from equine professionals which ensures that Dave’s clients receive the most advanced options to meet their needs.

Dave has been acknowledged and sought out by several veterinarians for his assistance in assessing and treating critical hoof diseases. His success with Canker treatment was published as an article in the January/February, 2012 issue of the American Farriers Journal and Dave presented the article at the 2012 International Hoof Care Summit. In 2015, Dave was sought out by the conference organizers to mediate a round table discussion on glue-on shoeing techniques at the 2015 International Hoof Care Summit. Through the use of Easy’s Slipper glue-on shoes, Dave has achieved rapid post-surgery hoof regeneration and is currently evaluating the potential of Easy’s Slippers for the prevention of road founder in drafts.
